Sojay
Nigerian born, Sojay began his singing career like many international stars: singing in the church. Despite losing his father at a young age, he graduated from the University of Port Harcourt with a degree in Computer Science. Soon after graduating, Sojay's singing prowess received the attention of fans and industry-insiders alike as he was named the winner of Nigeria's Top Talent 2011 competition. Riding the wave of his success in the competition, Sojay was signed to Trybe Records and soon appeared on the club-hit "Higher" alongside West African legend eLDee, as well as delivering a memorable chorus on the fan-favorite "We Made It", both of which appeared on eLDee's chart-topping Undeniable album in 2012.
Already dubbed by fans and industry-insiders as "the best male vocalist in Africa", Sojay's smooth presence and unique vocal ability went viral with the release of "Sojay's Room" to begin in February 2013. The song was a cover of Drake's R&B hit "Marvin's Room", but for the first time, perfectly blended pidgin lyrics with an international R&B feel. The song's momentum and popularity carried over into the release of Sojay's first official single "Slow Down" which received critical acclaim and heavy airplay across Nigeria while gaining him thousands of fans across Nigeria and a loyal international following.
